A network diagram is a visual representation of network architecture. It

maps out the structure of a network with a variety of different symbols and

line connections. It is the ideal way to share the layout of a network

because the visual presentation makes it easier for users to understand how

items are connected. This exercise will give you hands-on knowledge in

network map making and is an important skill to acquire.

Complete Hands-On Activity 6A titled “Network Design Software” found on page

183 in your textbook.

After building a network map using the design tool located at smartdraw.com,

students must save a copy of their map, along with a brief

summary of their map contents, to the discussion area listed for this week
