Be aware that you will have to analyze it in terms of denotative and connotative meanings (see Prof.’s prompt), but I advise you to bring in, and/or use, other terms (eg. symbol/icon/index, coded/non-coded, myth, signifier/signified, levels of signification, interpellation, punctum/studium) *if and when *useful in your discussion. *Go deep *into the image (think about the exercise we did in lecture on the tomato), cut it up in its component parts (its formal elements), *learn to see* the details that *make it work *(make it effective as an advert, in this particular case).
