Q- Marie-Claire and Felix have been living together for twelve years: they have never married. They have three children: Aidan, aged 12, Bobby, aged, 9 and Candy, aged 6. Marie-Claire has not worked since Aidan was born and Felix works full time for an insurance company. Marie-Claire has just found out that Felix has been having an affair with a colleague, Peter. When she confronted Felix about it, he admitted that he is bi-sexual. Marie-Claire told Felix to leave and said that she never wants to see him again. Felix has moved in with Peter. Marie-Claire will not let Felix see the children. Felix says that if she does not let him see them, he will apply to the court for ‘custody’. Marie-Claire, who was born in Canada, says that she is going to return to Canada with the children.
Advise Felix in relation to this matter.
