History Taking, Diagnosis and Treatment in Patients
Patient history taking interview is a communicative interaction between the doctor and a patient. The doctor asks the patient questions to obtain information which can be helpful in assessing the ailment and diagnosis. However, there are some cases where the physician asks other people who are related to the patients and have sufficient information about the medical complication. This happens when the patient is a child, incapacitated or is unwilling to give the information, whereas he needs the treatment. The relevant medical information obtained from the patient is at this point referred to as symptoms. This is because, the exercise does not necessarily ascertain the medical conditions suffered by the patient but are a basis of providing foundational information.
