Students research an employment position within a company in an industry that has a skills shortage. This required assignment involves the development of a recruitment, selection, hiring and socialization plan. It can be completed entirely with secondary research and modeled on an actual company. Where this is the case, students must make clear any assumptions they make in the development plan. However, where possible, students should be encouraged to also undertake primary research within the actual company through interviews with various stakeholders, e.g. the hiring manager, peer employees, and HR manager/ recruiter. The plan must be developed with appropriate costings, timelines and include customized documents for the particular position to support the hiring process e.g. job advertisement, interview questions, assessment tests etc.
