WEB SITE EVALUATION
With this day and age in technology web sites may be a little bit confusing especially to people with little or no knowledge about them. In some instances they may include void information or have other purposes other than those you are looking for. It is therefore advisory to be keen on the web sites one opens and read the content carefully to avoid being misled. In my case, I’m in need of getting a promotion in my current working place. So I’m left to weigh my options on whether to use CareerBuilder or Riley Guide web site to assist come up with a solution for my career need and one that is most reliable.
After an analysis of both the websites, I found Career builder more convenient for my job promotion need. This opinion was boosted by their web page which is more attractive compared to Riley Guide. The first impression that career builder gives is far more convincing than riley guide and it gives the reason to continue using their website for whichever need you want a solution to. With a better welcoming page, I got the urge to find out what better services could be in the page and this gave me the drive to exploring their website more.
Another aspect is that career guide web site is categorized. In that, it is easier to move through since the entire page or most frequently visited topics that are displayed in a more organized manner. These assisted me to find what I was looking for faster and with better access. Their search engine at the top of the page is also faster and the results it gives are better detailed and more assistive. Therefore even if a related topic is not shown, it is easier to find it.
Career guide also impressed me because they have offered a hotline at the bottom of their web site as opposed to riley guide. This created an impression that if the website did not offer as much information as I needed to find, they have the option or rather the chance to call in and enquire more about this subject. To anyone and not just me, this takes career builder a step higher than riley guide. It takes a little more effort and keenness to realize that career builder is more purposed to assist people in search of jobs to find the positions they need. Therefore it gave me the relevant information on how to approach my need, which is to get a promotion at my current work place, gave me ideas on what to do and how to undergo the explained pointers.
Riley guide was not of much assistance to me because even the website itself dint look like it had the answers I was looking for at first sight. Their page mainly had advertisements of other unrelated pages and this added up on to the discontentment of what they were able to offer. Their web page also tended to focus more on training people on how to make use of the internet to pursue their careers so with the career need that I had this was not of much use to me. Riley guide also lacked to assist me because they were a little bit shallow on their topics. They were only able to give an overview of topics not the detail that I required.
After the analysis I was impressed more by what career guide had to offer toward my career need and I found it more plausible.
