World War I

World War I

War has always been a costly affair not only on the finances but also for the well being of the soldiers and civilians. Life is always unbearable and almost impossible in view of the fact that there is no peace for the civilians whereas the soldiers have to live in deplorable conditions. The soldiers lived in trenches surviving on very little food, rough terrains and under unbearable temperatures which they must bear till the end. They also have to face the enemy and at all times survive to live another day (Roberts, 2004). The civilians have more problems as they live in confinements of their houses especially where there are curfews. Women and children are most affected as they are left to fend for themselves. Men also have a great threat as they are hunted down by soldiers with suspicion of being an enemy. This paper discusses what life like was for soldiers serving on the frontlines, and how the war effect civilian life on the home fronts.
